Jarym is a mage in Ragpicker's Square.
Jarym is in need of a spectacular quality ruby for a spell he is working on.
The only ruby he will accept is the one on Moridor's Box. The box is given to the Nameless One by Mar in the Northwestern Area. Should the Nameless One open it, a powerful fiend emerges, and the box disintegrates, leaving the gem behind. Another, more rewarding method is to follow the quest chain and get Aola the priest to get rid of the fiend. He keeps the gem to rebuild the cathedral in the Alley of Dangerous Angles, but it can be bought back from Aola for 300 copper, or 200 with high enough Charisma.
Returning to Jarym with the ruby grants:
- 500 XP
- 200 copper
If you attempt to open his drawer, which contains a Stiletto, a Blood Charm, and 28 Copper Commons, Jarym will attack you. If you manage to kill him, he will drop a Gold Ring, 8 Copper, and either 200 more copper or Moridor's Ruby, depending on whether you completed his quest. If you kill Jarym before completing his quest, you will be unable to finish it, so it would be advised not to open his drawer until after you've given him the Ruby.
